Prior to reviewing the products, it is helpful to understand the difference between pure bioceramic materials and bioactive materials.
▸ Bioactive Materials Overview
▸ Bioceramic Materials Overview
Bioactives are generally categorized as any product that elicits a positive biological response. In dentistry, the response is typically realized in the form of a release of beneficial calcium, phosphate, or fluoride ions. Bioactives can include non-bioceramic components, as they are defined by what they are designed to do and not by their composition.
Bioceramics are different in that they are defined by both their composition and what they are designed to do. Bioceramics are essentially any inorganic, ceramic material (refractory polycrystalline compounds) used in medicine and dentistry. Brasseler’s bioceramics are pure calcium silicate, calcium phosphate-based bioceramics, which are designed to set hard in the presence of the moisture naturally present in dentin. It is important to note that according to these definitions, products consisting of metals and/or resins are not pure bioceramics.
Finally a material that is biocompatible, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial with no post-operative complications. The feedback from many of my Endodontic Colleagues is amazingly positive.
Endosequence Root Repair Material’s favorable properties, coupled with it’s ingenious moisture initiated setting reaction and efficient clinical application, represents a step forward in root repair and surgical retrofilling materials.
In all my years of viewing high magnification SEMs, I have never seen a sealer form such a consistently intimate bond with dentin.
Product Line
EndoSequence BC Sealer
Application: Sealer (optimized for cold hydraulic condensation)
Unlike conventional base/catalyst sealers, BC Sealer™ utilizes the moisture naturally present in the dentinal tubules to initiate its setting reaction. This highly radiopaque and Hydrophilic sealer forms hydroxyapatite upon setting and chemically bonds to both dentin and to our bioceramic points (EndoSequence® BC Points™). BC Sealer is anti-bacterial during setting due to its highly alkaline pH and unlike traditional sealers, BC Sealer exhibits absolutely zero shrinkage!

EndoSequence BC Sealer HiFlow
Application: Sealer (optimized for warm obturation)
BC Sealer HiFlow is optimized for warm obturation techniques. Unlike conventional base/catalyst sealers, BC Sealer™ utilizes the moisture naturally present in the dentinal tubules to initiate its setting reaction. EndoSequence BC RRM
Application: Perf repair, pulp capping, retrograde fill, apexification
EndoSequence Root Repair Material provides superior handling and healing properties for all of your root repair needs. This highly radiopaque and hydrophilic material has a very small particle size and unique composition that allows it to bond to dentin. It utilizes the moisture naturally present in the dentin to initiate and complete its setting reaction, and it is antibacterial during setting due to its highly alkaline pH.

EndoSequence BC Pediatric Putty
Application: Pediatric Pulpotomies
Utilizing Brasseler’s bioceramic knowledge, EndoSequence BC Pediatric Putty works exceptionally well for pulpotomies while delivering the same advantages our bioceramic family is known for. Anti-bacterial with a high alakaline pH, BC Pediatric Putty’s ultra small partial size allows for superior handling.
BC Pediatric Putty is easy to use with no mixing required, and packs easily with damp cotton pellet. To add a layer of protection over the putty, use BC Pediatric Putty in conjunction with BC Liner™.
EndoSequence BC Temp
Application: Intracanal dressing
BC Temp is a premixed bioceramic paste for intracanal dressing. Unlike traditional Calcium Hydroxide pastes, the primary components of BC Temp are Calcium Silicates and Calcium Oxide which combine with the water naturally present in dentin to produce Calcium Hydroxide which dissociates into Ca2 + and OH-. The hydroxyl ions (OH-) released are responsible for a significant increase in the pH of the surrounding tissues, making the environment unsuitable for bacterial growth. The hydration reaction of Calcium Silicates allows BC Temp to have a gradual and slow release of calcium and hydroxyl ions which eliminates the need for frequent applications.
EndoSequence BC Liner
Application: Orifice barriers, base/liner, indirect pulp capping
EndoSequence BC Liner is a next-generation bioactive hybrid resin optimized for use with BC Sealer and BC RRM. This versatile and durable material chemically bonds to dentin without the need for a bonding agent. The unique, moisture-friendly chemistry seals teeth against bacterial leakage and continuously releases and recharges calcium, phosphate and fluoride ions for a lasting biological benefit. Also available in blue for orifice barriers.
